Jarvis Ruoxi Hua (b. 1999, Suzhou, China) is a painter, who currently works and lives in New York. Hua’s works have been featured in numerous group exhibitions, including Thresholds at VillageOneArt in New York, NY (2025), I belong (t)here at Seven House Gallery in Brooklyn, NY (2025), and TOOLS (2025) and THIRD PLACES(2024) at Manifest Gallery in Cincinnati, OH. He organized and curated Everlasting Gaze at Helm Contemporary in New York NY (2026). Notably, Hua is selected as a finalist for AXA Art Prize US 2025 and for Season 21 Grand Jury Awards by Manifest Gallery in Cincinnati, OH (2024). He is a recipient of FST StudioProjects Fund (2026). He was an artist-in-resident at NARS Foundation Season IV 2025 in Brooklyn, NY and Cuttyhunk Island Artist’s Residency – Fall 2025, in Cuttyhunk Island, MA. His works are published on New American Paintings issue 177 (2025) and discussed in Hyperallergic (2025).
Hua attended The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA, where he double majored in studio art and biology, while minoring in philosophy, and received a Bachelor of Science degree (2022). Recently, He acquired his Master of Fine Arts degree from School of Visual Arts in New York (2025).
